2022年1月21日，加拿大加中友谊促进会向媒体发布写给加拿大总理特鲁多的一封公开信，敦促政府聆听加拿大华人社区支持2022北京冬奥会的深切呼声。

To: Prime Minister | Premier Ministre
Dear Prime Minister Justin Trudeau,
Thank you for your last reply dated 10th January 2022. We understand the pressure and challenges you face as a leader at the time when Covid cases are surging across the country. We hope that you and your family will take care of yourselves.
Despite the raging pandemic, the Beijing Winter Olympics is still going on as scheduled, which demonstrates our determination to defeat the virus. Canadian and Chinese athletes will compete and get to know each other on this platform, which will provide an opportunity to celebrate the core values of Olympism—excellence, friendship and respect.
The Beijing Winter Olympics is China's solemn commitment to the international community. During the pandemic, you can imagine the difficulties that Chinese people and government have to overcome to prepare for the event. China will certainly present the world with a simple, safe and wonderful Olympic Games, and it will also give us more confidence to fight against Covid 19.
Chinese Canadians are looking forward to the success of this event. Representatives of various organizations in the Montreal area expressed their good wishes in different ways. On December 12, 2021, Le Centre Uni de la Communauté Chinoise de Montréal /Alliance Canada-Chine pour la réunification de Chine (Grand Montreal) / The North American Chinese Information Technology Association /The consultant of the Montreal-based Xiaodu Family Office and The Xinhui Jiangmen Association took the lead in expressing their firm support for the Beijing Winter Olympics and against the politicization of sports. The voices of justice are loud and clear.
Students and teachers from Montreal Confucius School expressed their good wishes and gave their blessings in front of PARC JEAN-DRAPEAU BIOSPHERE on December 5, 2021. On January 1, 2022, The Canada-China Friendship Promotion Association/ Shandong Fellowship Association of Quebec/ SanJia TAC International Education Group and Run for Life group gathered under the pure five rings of the Montreal Olympics, and spoke out their deep voice of "resist lies and bless the Olympics".
On January 17, 2022, the online event "2022 Montreal All Chinese Support the Beijing Winter Olympics" led by the Montreal Chinese Chamber of Commerce attracted more than 70 Chinese organizations in Montreal. They chanted the following slogan with one voice: “welcome the Winter Olympics and look forward to the future together!”
Our Canadian athletes are actively preparing for the upcoming Winter Olympics. We won a total of 20 medals and ranked 19th in the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics. In the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, China sent a total of 94 athletes and achieved their best record in the Winter Olympics.
The Olympics is the occasion to pursue the dreams of becoming "faster, higher and stronger" for athletes as well as to facilitate mutual understanding among nations. Some countries’ efforts to boycott the Olympics are based on groundless allegations. Should there not be more solidarity among nations based on facts?
We hope that through this Winter Olympics, the rift that should not have arisen between Canada and China can be eliminated, and the friendship can be restored. It is our sincere belief that the Beijing Winter Olympics will promote unity, peace and development all over the world.

尊敬的总理杜鲁多先生，
谢谢您办公室12月10日的回信， 我们很理解在疫情越来越严峻的时刻，作为一国领导人的您所面对的压力与挑战， 我们希望您及家人多多保重。
在疫情肆虐的情况下中国北京冬季奥林匹克依旧如期进行，这展示了我们人类最终会战胜疫情的决心；加中体育健儿会在这个平台上相聚相识相知， 用他们的参与来诠释奥林匹克的精神，那就是相互理解、友谊长久、团结一致和公平竞争。以促成建设一个和平、臻善的世界。
北京冬奥会是中国对国际社会的庄重承诺，在疫情严峻下的这次冬奥会， 可以想象所克服的困难有多大。相信中国一定能为世界奉献一届简约、安全、精彩的奥运盛会，为饱受疫情困扰的世界注入更多信心和力量。
加拿大华裔更是期待着这次盛会圆满举行。 蒙特利尔地区的各社团代表用不同的形式表达着他们的美好祝福。 2021年12月12日华人联合总会、（加拿大）华侨华人促进中国和平统一联盟、北美华人信息技术协会、满地可至孝笃亲公所顾问及新会江门同乡会等率先表达坚决支持北京冬奥会，反对将奥运政治化和体育政治化的活动，正义的话语掷地有声。蒙特利尔孔子学校的孩子们通过画作及2021年12月5日在PARC JEAN-DRAPEAU BIOSPHERE 前与老师们一起祝福奥运的活动， 表达了他们美好纯洁的心声。同天，加拿大魁北克福建龙舟俱乐部在皇家山冰壶馆举办了迎接北京冬奥会冰壶比赛活动。
2022年1月1日， 加中友谊促进协会、蒙特利尔山东同乡会、三佳国际教育学院、为生命而长跑群聚集在蒙特利尔奥林匹克纯洁的五环下 ，发出了“抵制谎言， 祝福奥运”的响亮心声。 2022年1月17日，由蒙特利尔华商会牵头的“2022年蒙特利尔全侨支持北京冬奥会”线上活动聚集蒙特利尔七十多个华人社团，喊出了“同迎冬奥，一起向未来！ ”的共同心声。
我国的体育健儿正在积极地备战即将到来的冬奥会。 记得2008年北京夏季奥林匹克我们共赢得20块奖牌位列19，以3块金牌的成绩位列14名. 在2010年温哥华的冬奥会上， 中国派出了94名运动员的阵容参赛并取得了有史以来冬奥会最好成绩。
奥林匹克为体育健儿们追求“更快更高更强”的梦想提供了舞台，为国家相互理解提供了机会。可某些国家的做法却是以谎言为理由抵制奥运。 国家之间不应该本着事实更加的团结吗？
我们希望能够通过这次冬奥会消除加中之间不应该出现的裂痕，也希望北京冬奥会把各国民众团结在一起，促进世界和平与发展。

加中友谊促进会是在加拿大合法注册的非盈利民间组织，创建于2021年7月，会员来自加拿大不同省份，总部设在魁北克蒙特利尔。
此公开信发布前曾在蒙特利尔华人社区和社团微信群征求意见，经过两天酝酿，获得广泛支持。记者发稿前也采访了一些社团负责人，他们对此公开信表示高度认可，其代表性不容置疑。（完）
